The best season...

FullSizeRender (9)

How can you possibly dislike autumn? In the air, there are sweet and fragrant smells of pumpkin, cinnamon and the trees and foliage in Virginia are a complete feast for the eyes. Vibrant colors of gold, orange and red dancing with the cool breeze on hanging limbs. It's my favorite season, the most romantic and human of all. Autumn reminds me of the human spirit - constantly changing colors, shedding layers, and sometimes stripped completely bare, as the leaves and trees at the end of November, right before the winter season arrives.

I love the blogger anton_petrus, who is one of the most amazing nature photographers on LiveJournal. Of course, his posts generate almost no comments. They never appear in the TOP, which is filled with nonsense and trash for the mindless. After all, what can you really say about beauty? However, sometimes it's necessary to respect it, to pay homage to the landscapes and peace that mother nature continually provides. I never grow bored of nature, it's there that you can truly reflect, be alone and silent, and understand and appreciate the depth of the world. One of my favorite movies is "American Beauty," and the disgruntled character Lester Burnham probably sums it up best:

"It's hard to stay mad, when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once, and it's too much, my heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst...And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain, and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life...You have no idea what I'm taking about, I'm sure. But don't worry, you will someday. Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world, I feel like I can't take it....

Or maybe the great American author Henry David Thoreau, who wrote:

"I would rather sit on a pumpkin alone, and have it all to myself, than be crowded on a velvet cushion."

While all sit and argue about Syria, while people send me messages asking why I don't discuss it here in my blog, I wish to focus on beauty. A topic that no longer draws attention or conversation on LiveJournal, unless of course you see "beauty" only in pumped up asses and lips. Then, I'm sure you're completely satisfied...

I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers. Have a nice weekend!

Then you're normal. :) Most people love summer and warm weather most. But I love autumn and winter. I don't like hot temperatures.

Just agree. Autumn is a perfect. I have watching http://anton-petrus.livejournal.com/ long time and like his works a lot too. Also I like photos by http://egorov.livejournal.com/ http://aquatek-filips.livejournal.com/ http://lavagra.livejournal.com/ http://sanmai.livejournal.com/ and our common blogger - Macos, they works always makes me enjoys the world.

I'm reading all those bloggers as well. But unfortunately Sergey and Alexander (aquatek-filips and macos) now write too many yellow posts. :( Especially the latter. It was much better when Alexander wrote only about travel, and not all these mindless topics to attract the masses and sit in the TOP all day. But I understand the blog is his job, so he must follow the current trends to survive.

"How can you possibly dislike autumn?"

You should see what it's like here, at North-Western Russia. There is not much to like: a depressing sky, wetness and a cold wind.

There's no colorful foliage? In winter, the Russian skies are almost grey. This is very bad for photography. The sky is completely washed out and expressionless in photos.

The autumn is excellent this year. The temperature was around 25C in September in Vladimir! It was great! I thing most people don't like autumn (who don't like) because of November when there are a lot of slush.

Tomorrow we are going to the woods, la-la-la. It is so beautiful in Sweden right now, the colors are amazing, and my little Japanese maple tree just turned red. I too love autumn the most, and winter, and spring, any time when one can go outside with a cup of hot tea and it will be cosy. Summer can be annoying, but on the other hand, it is a vacation time:)

p.s. Sorry, I just realized you have a Responsibility as an American;) I can sympathize as a Russian living abroad.

My favorite time of the year. If things work out timewise, I want to go to New England in 2 weeks,
with a side trip to Quebec to enjoy the fall colors!

New England is even better than Virginia for autumn colors! I went to Vermont in October one year. It was glorious, and I love all of the New England area. So peaceful.

I like the autumn more than all the other seasons. First decade of October is the best especially.
Pushkin (the greatest Russian poet) liked the autumn
И с каждой осенью я расцветаю вновь;
Здоровью моему полезен русской холод;
(And every autumn, I bloom again;
Health benefit my Russian cold;)

Sorry for google translation)))

Google translation is okay! I understand everything, and it's a nice poem by Pushkin. Btw, did you know we have a statue of him in Washington, DC? :)

The great creation of an unknown poet:
Осень наступила, отцвела капуста,
У меня пропали половые чувства.
Выйду на дорогу, положу хуй в лужу,
Пусть его задавят, нахуя он нужен...

This Henry David Thoreau guy seems like a pretentious twat or a communist. Why would you sit on a pumpkin rather than on a pillow? It's inconvenient and a pupmpkin stem would stick right up your arse.

Personally, i hated autumn since I was a kid, because it meant that summer was over and I had to go to school/college.

Thoreau is one of my favorite writers! Him and all the other Transcendentalists. But Russians don't seem to know these authors - Thoreau, Emerson, Whitman...they are all great, and at the forefront of the civil disobedience movement. It seems that all Russians read Mark Twain in school.

Great romantic post about precious beauty - in addition to a note on FB :))) Late autumn is also great - with no colours, heavy dark sky, chilly rain and smell of smoke - especially when hiking alone through mountain forests :)))

Have a nice weekend too :)))
