Niagra
© Kaj Bjurman

I hope everyone enjoyed the May holidays! In America, we are getting ready for Memorial Day weekend next week. It's the official start of summer, my least favorite season. However, I plan to travel to Toronto in mid-June for a three day weekend. Of course I will visit Niagra Falls, but if anyone knows of other interesting or unusual places to visit in the area please let me know.

Next week I will publish some new posts. This week I had no energy, tired and drained. I wish everyone a pleasant weekend!

Thank you! The posts will be about America. Readers don't seem to like these as much but I will try to make them interesting. Unfortunately, I can't be traveling to and writing stories about Russia all the time.

Hi! I do not know your preferable seeings, but when I was there I liked Niagara-on-the-Lake town much more than Niagara Falls. So if you'll have additional two hours being there, it is worth visiting.

Hello, I was just researching the town this afternoon. It looks nice and charming. I'm still deciding whether to rent a car but I will try to make time to visit and write about the town also. My preferences are always simple places, small towns with real people. And of course any beautiful landscapes because I love nature.

There are 70+ wineries in the Niagara region, mostly between Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake and around. If you like wine tasting and tours - check out a few.
The falls are very impressive (take a boat tour), but town itself is just a tourist trap, not much to see really, unless you like casinos.

In Toronto, if you decide to go to CN tower, check if it's still better to make dinner reservation there - you can have a dinner and not pay for the ticket, about the same money but you don't get to the top-most point. On the other hand I don't think you have to stand in a huge line with everybody else. It's been a while since I've been there, so not sure if it's still so.

If you like gothic renaissance - take a walk in U of T campus.

I think AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario) still has great early renaissance exhibition that's very unique. The gallery's main exposition is not very inspiring, though it's worth a visit.

Unionville is a charming little town at the edge of Toronto, somewhat like Niagara-on-the-lake. Distillery district is all about art galleries and restaurants in the old distillery buildings.

What kind of places do you like? There are some decent musical and theater places, etc.

Oh, forgot about Niagara Falls - there is a nice Batterfly Conservatory, and a tropical birds place (forgot the name).
