Grey, Dull Moscow - USA!

moscow1

I planned on boarding a plane to France on Wednesday, but unfortunately the trip will have to be postponed for health reasons. I'm suffering with a severe form of sciatica and a slipped disc, which makes it almost impossible to walk. :( Because I'm in a bit of a depressive mood, it seems like a good day to tell you about Moscow. Not Moscow, Russia but a small town with the same name in rural Tennessee. I visited this remote village last December, and in some ways it would fit in perfectly with the overall landscape of Central Russia. A lot of abandoned buildings, small houses in disrepair and the overall feeling of a ghost town. Despite all of this, we encountered some friendly Americans who somehow manage to survive just fine in the gloomy little town.Read more...Collapse )

«I'm suffering with a severe form of sciatica and a slipped disc…»

I sympathize with you! I also have back problems after I jumped to the shallow water when I was drunk like a… no big matter who.
How did you get this terrible disease?

It's not really a disease, just a lot of discomfort from inflammation which presses on a major nerve in the body. :) But it's very incapacitating. Soon I'll start physical therapy and get a cortisone shot which numbs the pain for a few months, and I will be in much better spirits. Diving into shallow water when drunk? Sounds painful!!

It was not painful at all, the alcohol is analgesic alright, it was just stupid. After I made this attempt to travel to other side of our planet, we together with friends was racing through an agricultural field on the roof of the old Volkswagen. The interest was that the guy behind the wheel sharply braked and we was sliding out and was rolling with the dust and delight.

I've tasted venison and moose once in Helsinki in a Laplandian restaurant, they were rather tasty.
Your favourite how from Moscow is amazing! A lamp on its porch is so cosy!
> Does it look like Russia?
Definitely not! It looks much more peaceful and cosy!

Maybe it looks more like Lublin than Moscow? :)

Well, there are definitely more similarities with Lublin, but Lublin is bigger and has more older buildings in its center. ;)
