Balcony puzzle solved!

FullSizeRender (2)

The answer to yesterday's puzzle - Georgia! Some of you solved the puzzle very fast, but most were thrown off by the English language sign on the building. Your answers and logic were interesting to me, so thanks for participating in the game!

The photo of the balcony I showed yesterday was taken in Batumi, Georgia, one of the most popular tourist spots in the country. I will write a report about this place eventually, but it was my least favorite of all the cities I visited in Georgia. Where there are many foreign guests, Georgia does a decent job of having signs in both English and Russian. Kudos to officials for that, as they seem to understand the value of tourism and foreign dollars thrown into the local economy.

I look at the photo in this post, and am immediately transported back to this magical path. A gentle breeze rustled through the autumn leaves, the shades of red, gold and green dancing to create a sort of kaleidoscope impact. The scent of fresh-turned Earth permeated the air, and pure romance floated about. I wanted to reach and hug someone, grab a hand, but no one was there...:))

Just pure beauty! This pathway was quite nice and in good condition, which cannot always be said for Georgia. Many streets and walkways require utmost caution due to broken or uneven trails, missing or displaced cobblestones, and just general wear and tear of ancient cities.

Wishing everyone a colorful and relaxing evening! :)

You did not play the game yesterday! :) But the balconies are beautiful, right? Wish I was there now, instead of suffocating in our summer heat and humidity. :)))

A little poison ivy, a few too many mosquitoes, but I just love it.(с)

:)) By the way, your avatar of Damon from Vampire Diaries is too distracting!

Okay. :) His blue eyes are mesmerizing, that is why I get easily distracted. :)) In men, I always notice their eyes and mouths first, from a purely superficial standpoint.

I wish we had such scenes in the USA, but I have rarely seen them in my area. Only a few times in the South. Georgia - just a feast for the eyes and senses on many levels! There are many problems with the country, like all others, but the nature, landscapes and ancient sites are really stunning! This is especially true for someone like me who comes from a country where things are much newer and shinier. :))

Now I can see why Georgia give us so many romantic poets. :)

I thought that was Georgia, but did not have time to write. Looks very nice. And forest set of pics is very good.

Thanks! :) The forest is my favorite setting for photo shoots, but it seems I need to diversify and try a new theme next time.

I would suggest mountains and rocks as a background next time.

Unfortunately, there are no nice mountains close to me. I would have to drive over an hour. I think I will do something more futuristic and edgy. It is good to shake things up a bit. :))

Yeah, these are beautiful sights. But here is how real Georgia looks like:

Keep in mind this is Batumi the most popular tourist area in Georgia. It's frightful to think what happens aside from big city.

I spent almost all of my time away from big cities of Georgia, traveling in mountain regions. :) There is good and bad, just like everywhere. I will get around to writing reports about these places eventually. You are so close to this country, I think you should really visit and see for yourself. Many of your myths and biases will be eliminated thereafter. :))

Nope. I'm not biased and I don't have any myths about this country. Don't forget we lived in the same state more than 200 years. I'm personally partly from the city called Georgiyevsk where in 1783 Georgian tzar begged mother russia of protectorate.

Well, I have not heard you say one positive thing about Georgia. You do not even like khacupuri or khinkali? :))

Take a look at that strange looking thing. When I was I kid I played around it hundred times. I had no idea what this means. Now I know that this is a stella in honor of taking Georgia under Russian care.

How many italian restaurants do you have in the US? I think a lot. Even your famous pizza is an italian thing. But here in Russia we have the same thing with caucasian cuisine. and we also adopt some of their dishes in our cuisine.

Georgia does not want to be under Russia's care...

It's not about what they want.. it is about how they treat other people. They betrayed those who helped them when they asked for help. They fought with those who didn't agree with them (I mean Abkhazia and South Ossetia).

It looks like I am not the only one for whom autumn and romance are connected forever ))
Please, Shannon, post more photos of that bright Georgian autumn if you have them )))

Hi! :) I have wonderful photos from Georgia and my autumn journey in October! I will try to post soon, as inspiration, because we are suffocating with extreme summer heat now here in Virginia. :) Hope you are doing well!

We are well enough, thanks! But this summer is rather cold in the Eastern Europe. Fortunately we, especially in comparison with Saint-Petersburg, do have some really warm and hot days, but their number is much less than in previous years. Imagine, I haven't taken any sunbath on our balcony yet... )))
